Monarch Waystation in a Suburban Yard
Monarchs are one of the most recognizable butterflies. In this class, we’ll teach you to the requirements needed to turn your yard into a Monarch Waystation that will provide for the Monarch during their migrations.

Monarch populations continue to decline. Your yard can provide a place that provides the needed resources from egg to chrysalis during their migrations. We will discuss nectar and host plants and the pros and cons of different types of milkweeds.

Michele Livergood
Michele Livergood became an Extension Master Gardener in 2019. She is currently Chair of the Speakers Bureau and Co-chair of Green Gardens at REAP. She actively assists in fund-raising activities to support our committee projects: Dig and Divide and Garden Garage Sale.
Michele enjoys working in her yard, which is always a work in progress. She is also a member of the Idalia Society, a KC area butterfly group. She loves native plant sales. She also enjoys sharing plants and gardening knowledge with friends and neighbors.
