Emerald Ash Borer for Homeowners

Homeowners who own an Ash tree need to understand how this invasive insect is killing these trees.  The decision whether to treat or remove these trees has many facets.


Additional Information

This class will instruct homeowners to understand the nature of this insect and where the threat exists.  Clear instruction to identify ash trees will be given as well as the signs/symptoms of an emerald ash borer infestation. Homeowner and professional treatment of ash trees will be covered in respect to cost and effectiveness.  The decision to treat or remove ash trees will be explored as well as suggestions for replacement trees.

Restrictions:
This class is 30-45 minutes.

Chris Veach

Chris Veach has been an Extension Master Gardener (EMG) since 2001.  She is a nature lover with many passions including the planting and proper care of trees, destructive tree pests, beneficial insects, protecting pollinators, strip composting/lasagna gardening, butterflies and birds.  She loves sharing her knowledge with the community in the Speakers Bureau and answering questions on the EMG Hotline.
