The Blue Springs Historical Society’s 5th Annual Garden Tour
The Blue Springs Historical Society’s 5th Annual Garden Tour features 6 unique and colorful gardens. The self guided event will be from 10:00 am through 5 pm. Tickets may be purchased for $10.00 from Historic Soda Fountain, 1112 W. Main St., Memories on Main Tea Room-Café, 1105 W. Main St., Special Events, 1101 W. Main St., America’s Community Bank, 1100 Main St., Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce, 1000 W. Main St., Kennedy’s Custom Jewelers, 900 S. 7 Hwy., Petals & Potpourri , 708 S.W. U.S. 40 Hwy., Meyer Music, 1512 SW U.S. 40 Hwy., Ben’s Lawn and Garden, 1001 S.W. U.S. 40 Hwy., Christine’s Salon, 7 Hwy. and Main St., Village Gardens, 650 NW Mock Ave., Genevieve’s Home & Handmade, 706-B N. 7 Hwy., Dillingham-Lewis House Museum, 101 SW 15th St. (Sun. 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.).
The gardens include a professionally landscaped home surrounded with flowers; a Master Gardeners yard with perennials and hostas with the shade provided by large trees; one with a country feel with bird houses and watering cans among flowers and shrubs; a yard with secluded rooms with fruits and vegetables incorporated into the getaway; a garden that features flowering shrubs, trees, potted flowers, lilies, gladiolas and a huge variety of roses, andthe 1906 Educational Heritage Garden on the Dillingham-Lewis Museum grounds with architectural features that include a pergola, picket fence and arbor adorned with heirloom roses while the sun garden, takes you back to Grandma’s garden. While at the Museum, take in the ‘Dolls of Yesterdays’ exhibit and please take time to enjoy lemonade and light refreshments.
On the day of the Garden Tour, June 15th, tickets may be purchased at any of the gardens for $12.00 per person. You may visit our website www.BlueSpringsHistory.org for a list of the gardens by address on the Garden Tour.
